New Book Announcement!

July 23, 2025

So… I’m finally allowed to tell you about what I’ve been working on behind the scenes for the last while!

My new YA fantasy novel, THE ISLE OF TEETH, will be published in Fall 2026 by Simon & Schuster Canada. It’s got gothic vibes, draws on real world history, but with a dusting of magic. There are definitely monsters in it.

For fans of Chloe Gong and Rebecca Ross, this genre-blending sophomore YA novel from Tessa Barbosa interrogates the difficult choices of a people living under oppression. THE ISLE OF TEETH dissects the lives of two individuals whose destinies are divided by empire, and yet, whose fates are curiously intertwined. Told in dual POVs, Barbosa has crafted a dark and earnest YA novel inspired by Mary Shelley’s FRANKENSTEIN and the history of US imperialism in the Philippines.

Can’t wait to tell you more!
